BD Nuclear offer the facility of robotic scabbling. Scabbling is a surface preparation process where the surface of the concrete / material is reduced or textured. The surfaces will be surveyed as the removal process progresses if levels of removal are crucial. Radiological surveys may also be undertaken if the machines are being used as part of a decontamination process.
Scabbling can be carried out using various machines to accommodate site conditions/requirements. BD Nuclear currently has a Brokk 90 and a Brokk 330 available for deployment; both machines are electrically powered and controlled remotely via an umbilical.
