Project Overview
BD Nuclear achieved a U.K first by deploying a steel cutting track saw in a nuclear environment.
The shield plates where sited in a very sensitive area and were butted up against a shielding tank. This meant that the plates had to be cut without damaging the tank behind.
Shield plates size reduced in-situ with cold cut steel cutting track saw. Plates were 80mm thick. The saw was deployed with fail-safe suction units. The client required an accurate cold cut technuiqe. We also drilled lifting holes with our bespoke mag drill for the fork lift forks. They where 112mm diameter.
